SELF-SUSTAINABLE FARM AND RETREAT CENTER SINCE 1991. HIMALAYAN FOOTHILLS.

Double Rainbow Organic Farm is located 1700m above sea level, on Himalayan foothills in Banepa, only 26km from Kathmandu. From here we grow organic vegetables and fruits, treat our water, make our own medecinal tea, watch the birds, learn from nature and enjoy the view on Himalayas. The farm is ran by me, Yogi Shree Krishna and my family: Sorita, Priya and Pukar. I’ve been a farmer, an Himalayan porter, a trekking guide for many years and now I’m devoted to Chandi, the supreme godess. When i’m not chanting, I like to take my guest trekking or teaching them about local culture and natural resssources.There are many friendly, wild animals in the surrounding jungle, such as barking deer, wild cats, squirrels, lizards, hundreds of birds, garden snakes, wild boar & even a friendly leopard (hence the name Leopard Mountain!). Many seasonal birds & butterflies come to the farm, which is great for bird watchers & butterfly enthusiasts. On clear days, we can see the tip of Mount Everest, as well as panoramic views of the Himalayas that stretch for thousands of kilometers.
